If you are a mom with babies or children running around, the words "sleep deprivation" resonate with you. We all feel different levels of sleep deprivation depending on our physical and mental state, not to mention where our little ones are in the growth process. With young babies in the home, a working mom gets little to no sleep in any given week. Many times, if baby doesn't sleep, neither does mom. It's the morning of an important meeting at work and you slept about two hours the night before. The grey circles under your eyes are a dead giveaway. What can you do to look refreshed?Pull out your sleep deprivation toolkit!1. A Splash Of Cold WaterA cool splash of water first thing in the morning dilates the vessels of your skin and shrinks pores. It will refresh your pretty face and that cold splash will wake you up right away, too.2. Use Teething RingsKeep a stash in the freezer (the larger sized flower shaped or flat teethers work best for this step). Pull one out, wrap with a light cloth or napkin and apply to your puffy eye. You can always use two, applying one to each eye so you save some time. Cool cucumber slices on your eyes can also do the trick to reduce puffiness.3. Get The Red OutBloodshot eyes? If you are a fan of Visine or Clear Eyes, you can add a drop or two to each eye. Bright, white eyes give you an alert and awake look even when you are sleeping at your desk with your eyes open. Don't forget to read the labels on these products to better understand the side effects before using.A more natural approach to get the red out includes the cool cucumber slices on the eyes or soak a cloth in warm chamomile tea (wring out excess fluid) and place on your closed eyes. Let the warm feeling sooth your eyes for a few minutes and then repeat if needed. Don't rub your eyes!4. Don't Forget Your ConcealerA few dabs of concealer under your eyes as part of your make-up regimen will also diminish the look of grey circles. It's worth the time and money to visit your favorite make-up counter at the mall and get the expert opinion regarding a color match that suits your complexion. A concealer that is too light may add to the tired look you are trying to "conceal."5. Hydrate Your BodyIt's good for a cool splash on your face, now fill up your glass for a drink of water. Hydrate in the morning! Sometimes this step is hard to do early in the morning but a glass of water will help kick-start your day from the inside. Add in a cup of coffee or tea and you'll be ready to go in no time! While the mornings are tough and the puffy eyes may remain a constant on a working mom's face, it helps to remember at some point you will achieve that 8-hour night of sleep again. For now, keep your "toolkit" in mind and in practice and you will be ready for the corporate day that lies ahead in no time.

Your Aquarius Baby...January 20 - February 18Your Aquarian baby will be outwardly calm, relaxed and delightful and grandparents in particular will dote on your baby. From an early age Aquarians are quick thinkers who will want to analyse everything and everyone. An Aquarian child will often be totally unpredictable and come up with with lots of ideas; and she will also be sensitive and intuitive. You may find your child will rebel against commands and rules, but if you leave her to think things through she will normally come to a sensible conclusion on her own. Young Aquarians like to have many friends, although few will be very close, and will be generous towards them. Parents should watch out for the typical Aquarian absent-mindedness which may seem strange in one so young. An Aquarian child will be full of energy and will be constantly on the go and needs plenty of opportunity to make discoveries. Your child will thrive in a peaceful, calm, harmonious environment. These children are sensitive to any underlying tensions, so if you have to argue with a partner or other family member, try to do so out of earshot of your child. Aquarian children can often look more confident than they feel and so they will need genuine encouragement and praise from their parents.Young Aquarians should be encouraged to think logically and practically. Their minds are always working quickly, sometimes too quickly so they often get in a muddle. The typical Aquarian child is very healthy.

In most cases, your infant's fever should be left alone. Fever serves a very useful purpose and is the body's ally in fighting infection. There are a few natural remedies, however, that are safe for babies that will help your little one feel more comfortable. It's a good idea to see a Naturopath, Homeopath or other licensed health care provider who specializes in natural remedies before using them on your baby. He or she can point you in the right direction when choosing herbs and homeopathic remedies as well as help you with dosing.Lemon balm leaf, chamomile, peppermint, licorice and elder flower have been traditionally used to treat infant fevers. A baby older than 2 can be given one half cup of herbal tea, up to 4 times a day, for 24 hours. For babies younger than two who are breastfeeding, it is best if Mom takes the herbs herself in order to pass along the medicinal properties to her nursing infant. Or you can purchase over the counter herbal formulations with dosages designed for infants at your local health shop.Echinacea and goldenseal have been proven in some studies to clear up infection. Try a combination specially designed for children.Garlic also has antibacterial properties. If your baby is older than 9 months, you can make a batch of chicken broth with garlic, and serve it to your baby.Ginger tea can help with a fever. It's also great for stomachaches. Ginger has warming properties and is wonderful for babies who are chilled. Make a weak tea with grated fresh ginger. If your infant is over one year of age, add a drop of honey to sweeten.Homeopathic remedies are effective for infant fevers, but the specific remedy must match the individual child's symptoms. Check a homeopathic reference book to find the right one, or call a Doctor of Homeopathy.Be sure to keep baby well hydrated with clear liquids. If baby is nursing, offer the breast frequently so that baby will get plenty of fluids and the natural immune factors in breastmilk.Keep in mind that if your infant is younger than 6 months old, it's a good idea to call your Doctor about a fever. Additionally, if baby is listless, lethargic, acting unusual, having difficulty breathing or complaining of a stiff neck, phone your Doctor immediately.

Having read some books on generation gap issues, and having had a couple of classes on the 4 different generations, it seems that it is a lot like studying different cultures. Understanding another culture starts with understanding our own culture and values first, and then comparing it with the other culture and seeing the difference. Of course, the characteristics presented here are some general tendencies, and may not represent every person. Not all Baby Boomers, Generation X, or Millenials are cut from a cookie-cutter mold, but many similar values and perspectives exist within each generation that can be condensed and used as a starting point for understanding.Baby Boomers (age 43 - 61), of which I am a part, have been described as hard-working and tend to have a very high work ethic. They are competitive in all that they do. They work long, hard hours, and are basically a "live to work" generation. A prominent value is how successful they are in their career. Baby Boomers and those they work with make fairly good teams, having a common goal to get the job done. They'll sacrifice weekends and holidays, and usually do what it takes to get things done. Boomers will routinely take on other tasks outside their job description if that is what it takes to "git 'er done."Boomers tend to define themselves by what they do. Work is very important to them and to their sense of self worth and also their net worth. They define their lives, and define who they are, by what they do. Boomers value personal development. Authority figures can be loved or hated at the same time. Boomers yearn for visible rewards, such as certificates, awards, plaques and trophies. Trophies and other badges of honor demonstrate that they did a good job. They want to be rewarded with jobs of higher responsibility and want to get promotions. They need to be told that they did a good job, and want their supervisors to acknowledge the good job they did. They also need lots of material things, which are tangible rewards for their hard work, and they want lots of money. Money drives them. It is the reward for their labors and a measure of their success. They strive to build growing careers and professions, and tend to be workaholics. They will also quickly go into debt to achieve their vision of the American material Dream. Then they had kids. The spawn of the boomers are the Generation X (GenX) kids (ages 28 - 42) and Millennial kids (age

While new parents expect that their baby may cry when hungry, the idea that a colicky baby may be crying due to overfeeding is not considered as often. However, there are certain indicators that can point to a problem with overfeeding, and which can reduce the occurrence of colic if resolved in a timely fashion. If your baby has these symptoms, speak with her pediatrician for advice. The doctor may recommend changes to the nursing routine, or if your baby is bottle fed, changes in the amount or type of formula you offer. Your baby's tummy often seems bloated or distended after a feeding. If your baby is nursing too much, or has too much formula, then that can throw off the timing of digestion. Milk will be passed to the intestines before adequate digestion has occurred - which in turn can lead to bloating, cramps and a colicky baby. Your baby often wants to be fed, but will often spit up large amounts of milk or formula after feedings. Sometimes, when a baby is overfed, the excess will be spit up. This in turn can lead to an acid reflux problem in infants that can cause painful irritation - thus leading to a colicky baby situation. If your baby's pediatrician approves, try adjusting the amount of formula you give at each feeding, or only nurse from one breast per feeding. Your baby seems to have excessive bowel movements, especially when accompanied by colic-like symptoms. This can be due in part to the undigested milk passing through his system. Again, it's important to speak to your baby's doctor before changing any feeding routines, to have other potential causes ruled out first. Regular feedings are essential for all babies, however, overfeeding can cause just as many problems as underfeeding. For this reason, it is important to follow your baby's hunger cues rather than simply offering the bottle or breast each time she cries. Try other means of soothing your infant - rocking, singing, a pacifier or other distraction - before feeding if he's been fed recently. By adjusting feeding schedules with the approval and supervision of your baby's pediatrician, you may be able to eliminate colic that is caused by overfeeding.

It seems like more and more babies are struggling with eczema, or really dry skin. As a mother, I have had to deal with my child's struggle with really dry skin. Ever since my son's birth, he has been getting rough, dry patches on his skin. If you haven't noticed, your baby's skin probably gets drier in the winter than in the summer. These are just some tips that have helped my baby's skin stay "soft as a babies butt" all year round. If your baby's skin is extremely dry, cut down on baths--depending on how old your baby is. When your baby starts crawling, you will notice that he gets dirtier. Giving your baby a bath every other day instead of every day will be sufficient to keep your baby clean. Too much water can strip moisture from the skin.Put lotion on within a couple minutes of your baby getting out of the bath. Because he was just in warm water, your baby's pores are open and will absorb more moisture. I have noticed that when I put lotion on right away, my baby's skin just eats it up. If I add a little more lotion to his skin at this point, my baby's skin seems to stay moist all day long.Use a lotion that is made for sensitive skin. I like using Huggies extra sensitive lotion. It's fragrance free, hypoallergenic, and dye free. It really moisturizes and uses mild gentle ingredients that won't irritate baby's skin.Use plenty of lotion--really put it on. It may take a minute to rub it all in, but it's worth it. I have noticed that when I really do a good job of rubbing the lotion in, my baby's skin stays soft and the moisture lasts until the next day.Turn down the heat. The hotter the house is, the drier the air. If your baby seems cold, add clothes instead of turning up the heat.Cut down on the soap. If baby's skin is dry, using a bubble bath can make it worse. Only use soap on the body parts that need it, i.e. the diaper area. Also, use a gentle soap.If your baby's skin is really dry, up his fluid intake. Babies, as well as adults, get moisture from inside the body. When baby has dry patches, rub some mild hydrocortisone cream on the spot, or ask your doctor for some medication to help these patches go away.Add moisture in your baby's room with a humidifier. This will put moisture in the air and help hydrate your baby's skin.As always, if your baby's skin is extremely dry go visit your doctor. But the best medicine is always preventative, so try to prevent your baby's skin from being dry by following the above tips.

Q: My breastfed baby spits up frequently. Is there something I'm eating that could be causing this? Could it be reflux? Or is this normal?A: If your baby is spitting up, even if it's a frequent occurrence, it's rarely a sign of a serious problem. In fact, "In a healthy baby," according to the late Dr. Gregory White, previously a medical advisor to La Leche League, "spitting up is a laundry problem, not a medical problem." If your baby is gaining weight properly and otherwise developing normally, you probably have nothing to worry about, and likely the problem will lesson and eventually go away by the time baby is a year old.Still, it can be disconcerting if your nursing baby spits up a lot. You may be wondering if he or she is getting enough milk or if there is some problem with your breastmilk. Rest assured. There are several things you can do to help prevent frequent spitting up.1) Let Gravity Help When FeedingBasically, any position that causes the milk to go against gravity will help baby handle the flow of milk more easily, and cause him to swallow less air. Try nursing baby in the "football" hold with him looking at your breast and partially sitting up, facing you. Nursing lying down will allow baby to let extra milk flow out the side of his mouth. After a feeding, try holding him upright in a baby sling. Many Moms have found that their frequent spitters are helped when they're frequently held close to Mom's body in a soft carrier.2) Finish The First Breast FirstAt the beginning of a feeding, your baby is getting the lower fat "foremilk" and later on, the higher fat "hindmilk". If you remove baby from the first breast before he pulls away and give him the other side, he may fill up with foremilk, causing some gassiness, fussiness, and more spitting up. Let him decide when he's done with the first breast, either by pulling away or falling asleep. If you have a very strong "letdown", or milk ejection reflex, then this is especially important. You may have an overabundant milk supply. Try keeping baby on one side for an entire feeding.3) Pay Attention To Your LatchBe sure baby is latched on properly. His mouth should be open wide and he should have a lot of areola (not just the nipple but surrounding tissue) in his mouth. If he is latched on well you will have no pain, and baby will swallow less air. It's also a good idea to burp a frequent spitter before offering him the second breast. Oftentimes a thorough burping will prevent spit up later.4) Relax!Frequent spitting up is often caused by an underdeveloped esophageal sphincter (fancy term for the muscles that keep food down). The problem will likely resolve as baby gets older.Spitting up is rarely caused by something a nursing Mom ate. There is no one food that causes trouble in most or all breastfed infants. Nursing Moms worldwide eat a variety of foods (including spicy foods, garlic, dairy products and "gassy" foods like onions, cabbage and beans) and nurse healthy babies. Food allergies are rare in breastfed infants. If you have a strong family history of allergies, then your baby may be allergic to something that appears in your milk. Ask your health care provider for recommendations about changing your diet.Fussiness can be caused by many different factors, including temperament. If you suspect that your baby's frequent spitting up is caused by Reflux, he may have some of the following symptoms: trouble gaining weight, difficulty breathing, gagging and extreme irritability. Ask your baby's Doctor about your baby's symptoms if you're unsure.

Turtles are one of the cutest pets that you can have that you can't cuddle with. They are small and when they are babies they are so cute and of course slow! Learning how to take care of a new baby turtle is not common knowledge because they are not popular pets. It's easy to know what to do with dogs and cats because almost everyone has one or the other and they pass the information down to other people. When taking care of new turtles the first thing you will need to know is how and what to feed them to keep them healthy. There is a variety of turtle foods that are available in different sizes and shapes and can be made with different ingredients. You can buy flakes and small pellet foods that are sold specifically for baby turtles. The most common food for turtles that you can purchase are turtle sticks. These are great for any type of turtles including the babies. Water turtles will most likely need to eat the much larger floating pellets - but again they can be given to most other turtles. One thing that we urge you never use are dried whole shrimp and bugs. The way that these are sold is very questionable and may not be safe for any turtles and especially the babies. When ferrets are first born they are known as kits. They only weigh 8 to 10 grams when they are born and can easily fit into a teaspoon. It takes only 10 days for them to grow 3 times bigger then when they are first born, from only their mother ferret's milk. Baby ferrets spend the first three weeks of their life sleeping and nursing. The kits develop teeth after only two weeks, but it takes a full month for them to open their eyes and to begin hearing. When the baby ferrets are three weeks old, they are 10 times larger then when they are born. At three weeks they are able to eat solid food, but will still mostly nurse from their mother. It is around this time that the kits will start to produce a sound that resembles a goose honking to attract attention, but lose this ability when they are around two months old.A baby ferret's skin is pinkish when they are first born and have a very foul odor. This is likely part of the baby ferret's natural way of fending off predators. After a few days after birth they begin to grow fur, and almost after a week of life the fur begins to turn color. When the baby ferret is around 3 weeks old, it will become apparent what color the ferret will be when it grows older. The difference between male and female kits becomes obvious around 6 weeks. Male kits will be around a full 50% larger then their female counterparts. Female kits reach full size after 4 months and weigh around 600 to 800 grams, while males reach full size around 10 weeks.

Watching your little ones cool off in a baby pool can be both fun and entertaining, especially for them. However, the most important thing to remember is safety. More than 300 children under five years old die from drowning each year. Here are a few tips to help keep your children safe when they swim.1. Have constant supervision. It is important to supervise your children when they are in a pool at all times. It doesn't matter how shallow the water is or how small the baby pool may be. They need constant supervision either by you, another parent, a close family member, or a friend. Never, under any circumstances, leave a child alone in a swimming pool unsupervised.2. Have various flotation devices available. Floatation devices are not only safe they are also fun! Children can be both safe and entertained at the same time. Flotation devices come in all shapes and sizes, and can easily fit into any regulation-sized pool.3. Avoid rough play. Children are known to get a little rambunctious now and then. Remember to keep rough play at a minimum in the baby pool. Shoving each other underwater and splashing around can lead to serious accidents. Let your children play and have fun, but make sure that it is good, clean fun!4. Too many kids in the pool. Baby pools are relatively small in size. Having too many kids in the pool can be dangerous. A crowded pool can cause unnecessary accidents, especially of children are splashing around. If you have other children over to swim in the pool, let them take turns. Two or three kids in the pool at a time should suffice.5. Don't let them stay in too long. Most children love water, especially young children. When it comes to children ages five and under however, you have to be careful of too much water exposure. Don't let them stay in the water for too long of a time. They may end up getting sick from the chilled water, get too much water in their ears or develop rashes. Children could stay in the baby pool all day if you let them.6. Clean the pool regularly. Clean it before and after your children swim in it. Also, store it in a dry place to reduce mildew. Never leave the baby pool out in the yard to collect rain or sit in the sun. Bacteria build-up can happen this way. Scrub the pool down before you fill it with fresh water and empty out the water when your children are done swimming.7. Be CPR-certified. As an extra precaution, make sure that anyone supervising your children (including you), is CPR-certified. CPR certification can be achieved through local Red Cross organizations, adult learning programs or the YMCA. CPR certification is important because if anything should happen while your children are swimming, you'll be able to act accordingly.

Are you desperate to conceive a baby boy but don't have the thousands of dollars going spare that would be needed to pay for the services of a baby gender selection clinic? Or perhaps you are simply overwhelmed by the amount of information available on the Internet today that claims to show you how to choose the sex of your baby? Well read on and I tell you the three most important considerations for ensuring that you conceive a boy.One of the most well known scientific methods for determining the sex of your baby is called the Shettles method. Over the last twenty five years or so may thousands of couples have been successful applying the techniques required for this method. It reportedly has a success rate of 75% although some researchers put it as high as 90%, which is pretty impressive stuff. The Shettles method is based on the fact that the Y chromosome sperm ( boy sperm ) are smaller and less hardy the larger and more robust X chromosome sperm ( girl sperm ). However they may be smaller but they're a lot quicker! How to Conceive a Baby Boy Tip 1 - Know When You're OvulatingFirst off you simply must determine the time of ovulation. Baby gender selection relies heavily on this information. Knowing when you ovulate is vital when you are trying to conceive a boy. There are three ways to do this which I will not go into great detail here but basically they involve: Charting body temperature Charting cervical mucus Using ovulation prediction kits How to Conceive a Baby Boy Tip 2 - Timing and Frequency of Intercourse Shettles recommends that to increase your chances of conceiving a boy you must have intercourse from 24 hours before ovulation to no more than 12 hours past ovulation. If you have sex too far in advance of ovulation then the 'boy' sperm will be long gone leaving the slower more resilient 'girl' sperm to hit the target at the right time. Intercourse closer to ovulation ensures that cervical mucus present at ovulation is less acidic and slippery enough to help the 'boy' sperm reach the egg more quickly. This timing is vital. How to Conceive a Baby Boy Tip 3 -Position During Intercourse Shettles suggests that if you are trying to conceive a boy, a position that involves deep penetration from your partner will deposit the sperm closer to the cervix giving the faster and more aggressive 'boy' sperm a head start at getting to the egg and fertilizing it first. Finally, another tip is to get your partner wear boxers. Tight fitting underwear will increase heat levels around the testes which can lead to a lower the sperm count. Wearing loose fitting underwear helps keep the testes cooler.

When the music gets too loud there is a problem for baby boomers. Baby boomers were part of a generation in music that defined so much of what is heard now. There are covers done by bands and rappers that borrow hooks from songs from the 60s and 70s. Baby boomers don?t need to cover their ears when they hear the music of today, but embrace what their generation did for modern music. When baby boomers were growing up, music was an important part of society. Icons were first taking form such as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. Music was about life and changes. Music had meaning and reached into the heart and soul of the baby boomers. Not much has changed in that respect. Baby boomer musicians are still creating songs about getting older. However, the music still stays the same. Baby boomers can rock out and enjoy the music now just as they did when they were younger. The rock and roll lifestyle wasn't always glitz and glam. The 60s saw the demise of several rock icons. Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Freddie Mercury all succumbed to the lifestyle. There deaths were just as much as a part of the culture as any other thing that happened in that time. They went too far and took the rock and roll culture to a further point. Their music is still celebrated and looked upon as unique, trendy and still remains current to this day.Baby boomers learned how to move on because it doesn't pay to wallow in sadness. Musicians from that time are still making music. The Rolling Stones recently went on a tour that was one of the most successful in the country. They made money while young and old rocked out to their music. Music of the baby boomer generation transcends different cultures. Take at look at Aerosmith or Bob Seger. These are all musicians that maintained over the years and continue to rock even into their later years. Just because you?re old doesn't mean you aren't allowed to have fun. Baby boomers will argue they deserve it most because they have created a culture that won?t soon be forgotten.Rock and roll isn't just about the music though. Rock and roll is about an attitude. It?s a way of life. A life the baby boomers exemplify. They live life to the fullest, doing everything they can and never getting cheated. However, the ones that took this attitude too far are the ones that suffered. If you look at baby boomers and all they have done in life, you see this attitude. They have worked in the best jobs, enjoyed life by going on great vacations and have bought the best things life has to offer.Rock and roll is about not selling out. That is why rockers have great contempt for anyone they have deemed a sell out. This doesn't change with age. Baby boomers still aim to have fun even though their lives have gotten busier and they have more responsibilities. The more work they have to do just means a bigger reward in the end.For baby boomers who have forgotten that lifestyle, there is still time to get it back. Throw on an old record or put on the classic rock station. You can even check out your grandson?s collection. There might be a band that reminds you of your youth. You will be able to listen to the bands and be reminded of the days that once were. Remember rock and roll is here to stay. You can always be a part of it.

Who is Baby P?August 3 2007 marks the date that ended months of abuse for Baby P. The toddler, known as Baby P was born on March 3 2006. For the first 4 months of his life, Baby P lived with his biological parents in Haringey. In July of 2006 Baby P's father moved out.The first time that Baby P displayed any signs of abuse were in October. Coincidentally, this is right before Baby P's stepfather moved into the home. In the months between Baby P's stepfather moving in and Baby P's tragic and unfortunate death the poor toddler is reported to vhave been tortured. This torture was inflicted by the stepfather and by a lodger that lived there also. The two men are reported to be brothers. His mother sat idly by and did nothing to protect her precious baby. In fact she covered up for these evil men.At the time of his death Baby P had multiple cuts and bruises on his head, his ears were hanging on. It is reported that he had been attacked by his step father's rottweiler. He had bruises on his arms and legs. He had a broken leg and worst of all a broken back. The toddlers back had been broken in the weeks preceding his death. Baby P was missing finger nails. It is reported that the tips of his fingers were cut off with a Stanley knife and the the nail were ripped out with a pliers. A tooth was found in Baby P's stomach during the autopsy. He was hit so hard in the face that a tooth fell out and he swallowed it.As well as being physically abused, Baby P was also neglected. He was left in his crib for days at a time, he was underfed, his diaper was rarely changed and he was suffering a severe case of head lice.Death must have been a welcome escape for this poor toddler. The death of Baby P has stirred a huge controversy in England. It is believed that if it wasn't for poor communication between different agencies such as police, social workers and doctors that the death of this toddler may have been avoided. Baby P had on Child Protective Services Register since December and was frequently visited by over worked social workers. They seemed to think it better to leave in home in the abusive environment. Sickeningly, the toddler was examined on August 1st, 2 days before he died in a hospital. At this time he was suffering a broken back and broken ribs. The doctor that examined him has stated that she did not give him a full examination because he was too cranky and miserable. Had she, he might be alive today.

Baby strollers are one of those things we can't just do without. We need them when we want to take the baby out and they provide a more convenient way for us to take our babies along with us wherever we are going; whether to the mall, the supermarket or out for an errand somewhere. But we do know that babies can be fussy, especially when they're bored, wet or sleepy. This is why putting in additional stroller accessories on top of the ones that already come with the stroller itself, can help us tremendously.Choosing Stroller AccessoriesBefore we start buying off any accessories for our babies' prams, there are three things that we should consider: safety, usefulness and affordability.First of all, safety should always be the number one consideration we have to think of when purchasing anything for our babies, and this includes those extra add-ons for the strollers. The materials used for the accessory should be non-toxic since babies love to put stuff in their mouths or taste whatever they get hold of. Small, detachable parts are also big considerations. The next consideration is, how useful is this add-on going to be? Stroller toys that can keep the babies entertained for a few minutes at a time are useful since it can keep them occupied for awhile.Stroller accessories that can hold feeding bottles, extra nappies, wipes and other baby needs are also available for our convenience. The cost is another consideration although we should always check for the top two essentials first before finally checking out if we can afford them. Usually, but not all the time, cheaper stroller accessories are made from inferior materials so we could end up spending more in the long run if we buy a replacement for the accessories once they get broken.Stroller Accessories OnlineWe can find a good variety of accessories for single baby strollers on the internet and we can check all the considerations stated above even if the products are viewed only through the internet. There usually is a product description complete with the materials used for the accessories so we can know whether they will be safe for use around our babies. From bottle holders to netting, stroller hooks for baby bags, reflectors and baby toys; these can all be found online so we don't have to wait until our next available time to trek down the mall before we can get our stroller essentials.Cushioned straps are also good stroller accessories so the babies will not get hurt by the usual seat-belts that come with some strollers.Simply check everything before we make a purchase and then we're all set. Plus, these can be delivered right at our doorstep so no need to pick them up!

Baby Hair Bows and AccessoriesOne of the most fun things about having a baby girl is dressing her up. Pretty dresses, adorable outfits, and of course, hair bows and headbands to match! Baby hair accessories are some of the most fun things to buy for your own baby or as baby gifts for someone you know who is expecting a girl. They are so versatile and can go with so many little outfits or even just a diaper. There is no way you can go wrong. The only problem is that most babies are not born with a head full of thick hair to put bows in. Either they are completely bald or they have fine-wispy baby hair, which is completely precious, but not so great for putting baby bows in. If you do have a baby with enough hair to put a bow in, you want one that does not pull, because you do not want to hurt that brand new baby head! Of course, you want one that will stay in, too. Because babies move a lot and they pull at anything in their hair. The best option for avoiding that is to find baby hair accessories that do not slip or pull. There are so many different options for baby hair accessories. Big pretty flowers, small hair clips, headbands, hats, and hair bows are all very popular now. Some times, bigger is better, but it really is up to you. When dressing your little pipsqueak, do you have a particular baby clothing store that carries designer baby clothes? Many will see celebrities' babies in magazines or on television someplace, and wonder where they shop. Shopping online, you can now have baby girl clothes from the latest in baby jeans and dresses to the cutest baby pants that any mother in the spotlight would be proud to put on her daughter. As to who designs the latest in children's fashion, the numbers are few but growing. A few names that ought to be little bees in your bonnet are: Estella of New York, Mormor Nu of Denmark, Bon Bon (offspring company of France's Bonpoint and known as Bon Ton in France), or Italian designer Album di Famiglia to name a few. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but solid brands nonetheless. If you have older kids, or simply a pair of legs... then you knows what an amazing material denim can be if crafted by the right hands. Have you had the experience yet of stuffing your diaper-wearing son or daughter into a pair of jeans that look like some emo skater kid had shrunk? (No offense to the emo skater kids reading this, btw!) Properly fitted jeans look great on everyone, but when you finally have a pair that will actually fit your baby, it's all over. You'll never be the same again, and your baby will appreciate not being stuffed into a poorly crafted pair designed for someone else entirely.Whether you're shopping around for a particular pair of baby pants or simply want to try out a designer-inspired baby clothing store, let your fingers do your walking and clicking to broaden your options. Once you've seen and felt the difference, you'll know what words can hardly convey. Fashion designers actually do know what they're doing when it comes to designer baby clothes!
Do you have a newborn baby at home? Finding the appropriate clothing can be challenge! After all it is vastly different shopping for babies than it is shopping for adults. The following article seeks to make things a little easier if you follow its advice.Thrift StoresOn a budget? 2nd hand thrift stores are great places to get designer baby clothes at very good prices. In fact, you will find that stores like Goodwill and the Salvation Army have huge sections of baby clothes. People cannot reuse this type of clothing and when their little one cannot fit their clothes any longer they usually send them here.Whats more is that you can find a large selection of new, never before used clothing here. At baby showers the mother to be is given a large amount of gifts. Many of these items are clothes. Unfortunately, the people giving the gifts either do not know the sex of the baby or forgot it. Subsequently, the mother is left with a plethora of baby items, including clothing, that she cannot use. They end up on the shelves of these second hand stores. So you can get new clothes at less than 50% of the standard retail price in many cases.Long Sleeve ShirtsLong sleeve shirts are versatile. If they are light enough you can have your baby wear them in the spring and fall, and when winter time hits you can wear the long sleeve shirt underneath other clothing to create layers.Find Clothes That MatchThere is nothing cutter than a baby wearing matching clothes. I know, many parents already know this, but some do not so its worth mentioning. If you purchase a blue shirt then attempt to purchase blue pants. This extreme matching is only cute for so long so take advantage of it while you can (if teens or adults try this they look like a clown).Spill ResistantBabies are going to spill and mess up their clothes. Do not buying clothing and colors that will stain easily. Purchase clothing that are stain resistant and colors that can easily be washed should accidents happen.Following these four easy steps will make life easier on you as a parent. Remember, though there are many parenting books the whole process takes time to figure out. Do not worry if you make mistakes at first. Nobody is a perfect parent.

The new generation of parents have a very different idea of what cool is compared to the older crowd. Fashion trends are set by teens and young twenty somethings'. The baby designs of today feature big screen prints and other alternative styles. This group of new parents are seeking baby items much different than that of parents of yesteryear. They want cool baby clothes that more closely mimic their own clothing styles. The retail infant clothing market is doing something very boring. That is that infant clothing styles have remained virtually unchanged in the past thirty years. Pastel pinks and baby blues are still commonplace. There is no shortage of happy little footballs and cute little flowers. The retail baby clothes marketplace as a whole is really rather stagnant and uninteresting. Most bigger kids fashions seem to represent the more alternative designs, but most of the infant stuff looks like it did in 1970.Fortunately, for today's new parents there is an alternative to the shopping malls and baby retail chain stores. New skull baby clothing and gifts are now readily available online from the fairly large number of unique online stores selling fashionable infant garments. Choices in colors now range from grays and blacks, to hot pinks, and even reds and greens. You can now get cool one pieces and tees with screen printed designs on them. This type of product is available in tons of online shops and at great prices. It only takes a minute of searching on Google to come up with these alternative baby items.Today's moms and dads are not afraid to embrace this great technology and the huge amount of options it creates. Finding punk baby clothes or alternative colored items like punk layettes is now quick and easy. Coming up with a unique baby gift is now as easy as pointing a mouse and clicking. You can even have your cool baby clothes gift wrapped before being shipped. This is convenient for sure. Gift givers and hip parents alike are going to shop this way whenever possible. That is until the brick and mortar chain stores catch up to what is really in demand... If they ever do.

You might consider home as the safest place for your baby. However, there are many dangers lurking around your house, the place where your baby will spend most of his or her days. They need to be firstly identified by careful examination and then removed or made safe.Baby will become mobile from around 4 months of age when they learn to roll onto their bellies. Following this, they will learn to crawl, then coast and finally walk/run. The checks for dangers should be stage-appropriate as follows:Once they learn to roll, they will still be confined to one room, so you must go down on your hands and knees in that room and look for dangers such as the following:
Ensure they cannot roll into something sharp, hard or unstable such as a piece of furniture in the room.
Keep very small items up from the floor in that room.
Use a playpen to confine them and include plenty of toys. They should get used to one of these early on, otherwise it will be difficult to keep them in one.
Check that there are no dangers in their cot such as very small toys, toys not suitable for their age or baby monitors. Also ensure that there are no items outside of the cot which are within reach.
When they learn to crawl, they will move from room to room so you need to check each room in the house. Some pointers are as follows:
Now is the time to put that stair gate at the bottom and top of the stairs.
Put covers on all idle sockets.
See what is lurking under the furniture.
Protect from hot radiators.
Keep the external doors closed so that they cannot escape.
Put a child-friendly fireguard to cover the whole fireplace.
Keep household cleaning agents and other chemicals up out of dangers way.
Place locks on any cupboards and drawers containing hazardous or sharp materials. Maybe have the saucepan cupboard unlocked so that they can explore it.
Continue to follow the rules set out above for babies who have learned to roll.
When baby learns to coast the furniture and finally walk:
Continue to follow all rules above.
Ensure that all external doors are locked at all times. Toddlers can easily escape within seconds of parents taking their eyes off them.
Keep handles of hot pots facing inwards and preferably only put the pots on the inside rings of the hob.
Do not leave ironing boards open and standing, particularly with hot irons on them.
Keep flexes of irons, kettles and other hazardous electrical items out of baby's reach so that they can't pull them down on top of themselves.
Baby's first year of life is a huge time of change and development. They change from being a helpless newborn to a thriving little explorer and guardians need to watch them closely at all times. Parents also need to be aware of the location of all items in their household, keeping it tidy and organised at all times.

There's nothing worse when taking your baby or toddler out of the bath than using a towel which is too small to properly absorb the water before it comes in contact with your own skin and clothes. Many parents end up soaked to the skin and need to change their own clothes after already spending so much time bathing, drying and dressing their baby. Apart from this and even if the towel is large enough, it can be very difficult to properly handle the slippery baby while and to then wrap the baby comfortably in the towel when they are slip-sliding out of your grasp. There aren't many solutions to this but one which has won many awards and continues to give great re-assurance and confidence to parents are the My Munchkin Hooded Baby Apron Towels. Features of these towels are as follows:

They are shaped like a butterfly to easily wrap your baby after the bath.
They are produced with 100% pure organic cotton.
They are gorgeously soft and comfy.
They are designed to keep your hands free whilst taking your child out of the bath and quickly wrapping them up snug as a bug.
They have simple Velcro fasteners for securing around your neck, giving you confidence and keeping you dry. These hooded baby towels are luxuriously soft, wide and absorbent. They are perfect for bonding with your baby during and after a bath & perfect for the sensitive skin of newborns. It is packaged in a stylish towel sack that can be used afterward for storing all those tiny little socks, hats, mittens and other items. It is also handy when taking trips to the swimming pool with baby.Choose from 3 fabulous/gorgeous colours: Candy Pink, Blue and Luxury White. They work like an apron initially, where mum secures one end around her neck with Velcro fasteners, while then lifting baby out of the bath and wrapping the sides of the "apron" around the baby's body. Once mum is ready to release the towel from around her neck, this is done conveniently and baby can be dried with the towel. The hood allows his or her head to be covered while drying, keeping them snug and warm and allowing their hair to be towel dried without needing to move the towel up and making baby cold.Hooded baby towels from My Munchkin are also the ideal gift for the baby who already has everything and when one is at a loss to think of a good present. They are functional, very practical, durable and snug for baby.
